Ordering a Sample: A How-To Guide

You can order samples in two different ways: through Shopify draft orders or directly using the Sample button in the app. Each method serves a different purpose, and we’ll walk through both so you can choose the option that works best for you.

Please note: samples are not free. You will be charged standard costs, including production, applicable taxes, and shipping.

Method 1: Ordering Samples via Shopify Draft Orders

This method is ideal if you want to order multiple products as samples in a single order.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. In your Shopify admin, create a new draft order.
2. Add a customer to the order.
   • An email address and phone number are required to ensure proper delivery.
3. Add the products you want to sample.
   • Tip: If you’re adding multiple products, you can quickly search by using the product ID found at the end of each product’s URL.
4. Select the desired color and size for each sample.
5. Add as many products as you’d like to the draft order.
6. Once your order is complete, mark the order as paid.
   • If you want to keep your sales reports accurate, we recommend applying a 100% discount so the order does not count as revenue.
7. Submit the order and request fulfillment, just like a standard customer order.

Method 2: Using the In-App Sample Button

This method is best if you only need to order a single sample quickly and conveniently.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Create and publish your product in the Ninja POD app.
2. Once the product is live, you’ll see an Order Sample button beneath the available variants.
3. Click Order Sample to open a new order page.
4. Add a customer to the order.
   • An email address and phone number are required for delivery.
5. Ignore the Send Invoice button.
6. Click Request Fulfillment.
   • You will be charged for production, applicable taxes, and shipping, just like a normal order.

Which Method Should You Use?

• Shopify Draft Orders: Best if you want to sample multiple products at once.
• In-App Sample Button: Best if you only need a single item and want the fastest option.
